Return and Warranty Policy

Return and Warranty Policy - GK Builds

This policy covers all PC builds and products purchased from GK Builds on or after the effective date listed above.

Returns

Return Eligibility

  • Returns are accepted only if the PC arrives defective or non-functional
  • You must contact us within 3 days of delivery to request a return
  • Returns must be requested by emailing [Gavin@gk-builds.com]
  • Original packaging and all included accessories must be returned in original condition

Return Process

  • If approved, GK Builds will provide a prepaid shipping label and cover return shipping costs
  • Customer must not attempt repairs or modifications before requesting return
  • All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt
  • Approved returns will be processed within 5-7 business days of receipt

PC Build Limited Warranties

Primary Warranty Coverage

  • 3-day defective exchange from the date the build was delivered to customer
  • 12-month warranty/RMA service for hardware-related issues

Warranty Service Process

For replacement of non-functioning hardware, GK Builds will go through an RMA process with the manufacturer to be sent a replacement unit. GK Builds will cover the cost of shipping the product back to GK Builds, and the labor for replacing the hardware. GK Builds will also cover the cost of shipping the fixed product back to the customer.

What's Covered

The standard warranty for PC builds sold from GK Builds is a 12-month limited warranty on parts and labor. This warranty/RMA service covers defects from the hardware or original software/operating system installation. This does not cover any hardware or software additions/modifications performed by the customer.

  • Manufacturing defects in components
  • Hardware failures under normal use
  • Original software/operating system installation issues
  • Workmanship defects in assembly
  • DOA (Dead on Arrival) components

Warranty Exclusions

The following are NOT covered under warranty:

  • Issues caused by user error
  • Software related issues (outside of the original software that was installed during configuration at GK Builds)
  • Modifications made to the system by the customer, to include but not limited to the following: 
    • Replacing Components
    • Overclocking
    • Undervolting
    • BIOS Updating
    • Software Installation
  • Peripherals or external accessories
  • Data loss or recovery
  • Physical damage from drops, spills, or impact
  • Damage from power surges or electrical issues
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Cosmetic damage that doesn't affect functionality

Warranty Conditions

Geographic Limitations

  • This warranty extends only if the products are purchased and operating in the USA

Usage Requirements

  • This warranty covers only normal use of the product
  • Systems must be operated within manufacturer specifications
  • Adequate cooling and ventilation must be maintained

Warranty Voids GK Builds is not liable under this warranty if any damage or defect results from the following:

  • Misuse, abuse, neglect, improper shipping, improper installation
  • Disasters such as flood, lightning, fire, or improper electrical current
  • Service or modification completed by anyone outside of GK Builds
  • Removal or alteration of serial numbers or warranty stickers
  • Use of non-genuine or counterfeit components

Refund Policy

Refund Eligibility

  • A refund may only be granted if the product arrives to the customer non-functioning
  • It is the customer's responsibility to understand the product's limitations and performance expectations, thus GK Builds has no responsibility if the product does not perform as the customer expects
  • Refunds are not available for buyer's remorse or change of mind
  • Custom configurations may have limited refund eligibility

Refund Process

  • If a customer files a refund for an incorrectly or accidental item, they will be refunded the final purchase amount minus any transaction fees that accrued during the original payment
  • Once a refund is approved, please allow up to 5 business days for the refund to be processed and returned to your original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method only
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the product arrived defective

Product Exclusions

No warranty or return policy for the following items:

  • Digital Products
  • Peripherals (keyboards, mice, monitors, etc.)
  • Add-ons (cables, adapters, etc.)
  • For Parts / Broken Items
  • Surplus Inventory
  • Clearance or "as-is" items
  • Gift cards or digital downloads
  • Installation or setup services

Special Promotions and Sales

Limited Warranty Items For special promotion PCs or discounted builds:

  • These PCs do include a 3 day working guarantee from the date the build was delivered to the customer. We can only offer a refund for this service, and not an exchange or repair. They do not include any other warranty/RMA service.
  • All sales final after 3-day period
  • No extended warranty coverage available

Limitation of Liability

Except as provided below, GK Builds is not liable for any loss, cost, inconvenience, or damage that may result from use or inability to use the product. The warranty and remedies set forth below are exclusive and in lieu of all others, oral or written, expressed or implied. No reseller, agent, or employee is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this warranty.

Maximum Liability

  • Total liability limited to original purchase price
  • No liability for consequential or incidental damages
  • No liability for lost profits, data, or business interruption
  • No liability for third-party claims

Warranty Claims Process

How to File a Claim

  1. Contact GK Builds support within warranty period
  2. Provide order number, serial number, and description of issue
  3. Submit photos or videos of the problem if requested
  4. Follow troubleshooting steps provided by support
  5. If warranty claim is approved, receive RMA number and shipping instructions

Required Information

  • Original purchase receipt or order confirmation
  • Serial numbers of affected components
  • Detailed description of the problem
  • Steps taken to resolve the issue

Response Time

  • Initial response within 72 hours
  • Warranty claim review completed within 3-5 business days
  • RMA processing time: 7-14 business days after receipt
